π Is Alfa Romeo 159 Reliable
for the 156: looks. the 159 obviosuly looks a lot newer and fresher, and has a lot more road presence due to its size and aggressive styling. but time will do the 156 more favours - it really is a stunnign design of car and will be remembered as quite possibly the best looking mass market saloon of all time.
What I have heard is that the car requiring maintenance is not an issue but the dealerships and the people who end up helping are much more of a pain in the ass. Apart from that parts are expensive and not easily available for these cars. I just have 1 certified Alfa Romeo service center and that is like 40 miles away.
Engines, chassis, transmissions and brakes tend to very reliable, and in many cases are common across several brands, like the ZF 8 speed transmission for example. The Alfa Giulia is a remarkable car for the money, especially in the area of intangibles - style, driving feel and dynamics, and simple ergonomic comfort.
Second-hand 159 07-2008 plates are within my price range so seem a perfect choice. However having test driven both 1.9 and 2.4 i am torn. Loved the engine tone of the 2.4 and improved performance whilst consumption and insurance of 1.9 seems more sensible. Do about 15k miles a year.
Alfa doesn't have the best reputation for reliability, so consider taking out an extended or independent warranty. The 1.9-litre diesel manages 47mpg, while the 2.4-litre does 41.5mpg, or 39mpg
The Alfa Romeo 159 Q4 is the top-of-the-line 159, with a new 3.2-litre V6 and four-wheel drive. Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6. Alfa Romeo 147 JTD Lusso. Romeo is still a heart-throb.
Alfa Romeo 159 reliability and quality. According to yearly reports of vehicle inspection service Alfa Romeo 159 reliability is very low. In the roadworthiness tests in 2014 defects were detected in an average of 26.1 percent of Alfa Romeo 159 of this generation (on average 8 years old at the time of inspection). Lighter, more agile to drive and the oily bits are far more reliable. The driving position isn't the best but it is fine once you get used to it.
14 Chrysler Sebring. via Cars-Data. Chryslers are known to cost more than your average American affordable car, and when it comes to sheer annual maintenance costs, the Sebring is the king of the hill. Quoted by gobankingrates.com as costing $17,100 to maintain over 10 years, the Sebring trumps even luxury limousines like the Mercedes E-Class
1 The Replacement. Built on a shared GM/Fiat platform, the all-new 159 was a much bigger car than the outgoing 156 and brought with it a host of new safety features, improved build quality practices, and proved to be a far more sophisticated machine. Again offered with an extensive range of engine and fuel choices, the 159 proved to be a better
